If you can't find the book you are looking for in our collection, try searching Ontario libraries for specific titles and subjects. Make note of the title, and author and submit your request to our interlibrary loan department or request an account to be set up so you can do your own ordering.

Toronto Virtual Reference Library
Targeted at the general public in Canada, this Web portal from a large public library is another good place to look after you've searched Librarians' Index to the Internet. The Research Guides are specific to Toronto Public Library, but can be very useful for planning information-seeking strategies.

LC's Web-based online catalog is now available, with over 12 million records (out of 27 million).
International Libraries
LibDex-The library Index
A worldwide searchable directory of more than 18,000 library Web sites. Each record provides available links to Web-based OPAC's (Online Public Access Catalogs), friends of library sites, and library e-commerce affiliates. There is a directory of OPAC vendors (listing which libraries use which vendors). There is also daily news about libraries and links to library-related web logs (blogs), journals, newsletters, zines, online bookstores, publishers, newspapers, and libraries offering live reference services.
