Computers and the Internet
Internet Stations
Explore the world wide web on our Internet Computers. The library has eight internet stations available in the adult department, all stations are connected to a printer and are loaded with Microsoft Office Suite Professional 2007. We also have two additional workstations set aside with Microsoft Office Suite available free of charge for the public to use for assignments and resumes. Sign up at the reservation station to book a one hour session or at the Reference Desk to book one of our word processing stations. Printing is .25 cents a page or you may also buy a floppy or a CD disc for $1.50.
WiFi Connection
To fulfill its mission of providing access to information of all types in a wide range of formats, we now offer free WiFi connectivity for owners of laptop computers, PDA's and other mobile Internet. Connectivity is available during regular library hours. Visit our home page at www.brockvillelibrary.ca.
ZoomText Technology
If you have difficulties with the small print on computers and the Internet, please ask about our ZoomText Internet Stations. Currently two of our sit-down stations and one of our Express Stations are equipped with this software. The Internet stations equipped with ZoomText are also equipped with 22" large screen monitors. Additionally one of our sit-down stations is equipped with a ZoomText keyboard sporting yellow keys with large black letters. The top row of this keyboard has hot keys to control the ZoomText software.
In addition, one of our word-processing stations is loaded with the ZoomText software.
Reservations for these stations can be made at the Reference Desk.
